Three Cougars earn All-UMAC awards
The Upper Midwest Athletic Conference 2007-08 men's basketball all-conference teams have been announced and three Cougars received honors.
Named first team all-conference for UMM were junior Phil Allen (Clarissa) and senior Will Jenson (Eau Claire, Wis.).
An honorable mention award went to sophomore Eric Dalbey (Mora).
Allen led the Cougars and the UMAC in scoring averaging 18.0 points per game. He tallied 469 points in the 2007-08 season to give him 852 in his career at UMM.
Jenson was second on the team in scoring at 15.7 points per game and was fifth in the league. He also led the Cougars in rebounding at 6.0 rebounds per game.
Dalbey was the third member of the Cougar team to average in double figures at 15.3 points per game. That was also sixth in the UMAC for the year.
The Cougars were 14-12 overall for the season and finished in a four-way tie for second place in the UMAC at 9-5. The Cougars, Martin Luther, Bethany Lutheran and St. Scholastica all finished 9-5 in league play this past season.
