A note from Principal Mike Coquyt -
Odds and Ends
I would like to share some good news from our Science teacher Mr. Pope. Mr. Pope would like to thank the Morris Area Public School Foundation for graciously donating money to the science department that will go towards the purchase of new technology. Mr. Pope plans to use the money to purchase a Classroom Response System (CRS). A classroom response system is an effective way for any instructor to instantly become more productive. With this new technology, Mr. Pope will be able to take attendance, collect homework, track formative assessment, lecture, give timed tests, interact with every student, and reduce the chore of grading. When you get a chance, talk to Mr. Pope about how he is using his CRS in his science classrooms.
The Tiger Strength Program has been going great for the start of the year. The weight room is open from 6:45 to 8 a.m. before school, and there has been an average of about 15 students every day. The strength program has also started the Record Weight Clubs. Students reach different Record Weight Clubs by adding their maximum lifts from their bench, squat, and power clean. Three students reached the 900-pound club in October!!
