Tiger boys go to 2-0
The Morris Area boys' basketball team moved to 2-0 this season with a 76-58 win at Long Prairie-Grey Eagle Tuesday.
After securing a 40-25 advantage at halftime, the Tigers slowed down the pace to outscore the Thunder by only three in the second half.
Four Tigers scored in double figures, improving from three in the previous game at home against Osakis.
Chris Scott led the Tigers with 18 points. Scott also grabbed eight rebounds and was credited with three assists.
Cory Hennen had 15 points on 70 percent shooting.
Lincoln Arnold added 13 points.
Eric Riley was 75 percent from the field for a total of 12 points.
Jackson Henrich led the effort at the boards with 10 rebounds. He also scored six points and had four assists.
Corey Nohl was 4-for-4 at the free-throw line for his four points.
Josh Love and Grant Gagner had three points apiece.
Taylor Nohl scored two points, but led the Tigers in the assist column with five..
Overall the Tigers were shooting at 53.3 percent (32-60), while the Thunder was at 35.7 percent.
