Tiger junior Jordan Kolden tees off No. 10 at Eagle Creek Golf Club in Willmar to begin his round at the Section 3AA Boys Golf Tournament on Thursday. Kolden shot a 78, missing by one stroke a spot in a playoff for the final two State qualifying spots.

Jordan Kolden and Andrew Rentz represented Morris Area/Chokio-Alberta at the Section 3AA boys' golf meet at Eagle Creek Golf Course in Willmar on Thursday.

Kolden shot 78, narrowly missing a chance to advance to the state meet, and Rentz had a 96.

The Marshall Tigers outhit New London-Spicer 307-319 to grab the first-place trophy and punch their ticket to the state meet June 8-9 at Jordan.

Benson's Sam Peterson led all scorers with a par 72. Philip Ward of Montevideo shot 75, while New London-Spicer's Reid Johnson and Joey Dreier advanced out of a four-way playoff.

Also in the four-way playoff were Dylan Skattum of Luverne and Joe Brinkman of Jackson County Central. All four bogeyed No. 10. Skattum and Brinkman bogeyed No. 11.

The tournament is played at the Ridges at Sand Creek Golf Club.
