Tiger cross country teams wrap up successful season

The Morris Area/Chokio-Alberta cross country teams had a very successful season in 2010.

The boys became back-to-back West Central South champions with their first-place finish at the conference meet. The Tigers also placed first at two other season meets, Lac qui Parle Valley and Ortonville, and finished fourth in the section.

The boys' success at the conference meet earned them all-conference status as a team, which included Dan Tiernan, Roy Reese, Matt Cotter, Aaron Goulet, Brody Bahr, Steven Jungst, and Gage Anderson. Cotter, Tiernan, Reese, and Goulet were also named all-conference individually by finishing in the top 14 at the meet.

The boys' team was awarded a silver status as an Academic Excellence team with a GPA of 3.67.

The girls placed first at the Ortonville meet, took fifth in the conference, and finished 12th in the section.

MaKenzie Smith was named all-conference for placing in the top 14.

The girls' team earned a Gold Academic Excellence award with a 3.86 GPA.
