Tiger girls bounce back with 20-point win over Eagles

After a string of losses, the Morris Area/Chokio-Alberta girls' basketball team bounced back with a 53-33 win at Lac qui Parle Valley Tuesday.

"The game started off slowly with neither team scoring for about three minutes," explained coach Dale Henrich. "Then the Tigers started scoring and ran out to a 31-17 halftime lead.

MaKenzie Smith led the Tigers with 13 points and Katie Holzheimer added 12 on 4-for-5 shooting from three-point land.

Courtney Gades led in rebounding with five. Smith dished out seven assists for the Tigers.

Alaysia Freetly scored a game-high 15 points for the Eagles.

The Tigers play at Minnewaska on Friday.
