Morris Area/Chokio-Alberta outlasted Paynesville in a defensive battle 47-28 Friday in a West Central Conference South girls' basketball game.

The Tigers shot just under 50 percent from the field and owned a 25-11 lead at halftime.

Erin Schieler had 10 points and Erica Domnick added eight points and 10 rebounds to pace a balanced attack for the Tigers.

With the win, the Tigers improve to 6-8 in the conference and 8-13 overall.

Bryanna Burg and Andrea Schlangen both had seven points for Paynesville, which had won four of its last five games. The Bulldogs fell to 7-7 in the conference with the loss.
