Tiger girls drop another close game
Minnewaska's pinch- hitter Joelle Johnsrud drove in the winning run as the Lakers defeated Morris Area 2-1 in a West Central Conference South softball game Tuesday.
With runners on first and third with two outs, Johnsrud laced a single down the third-base line to score Brooke Falk for the win.
Minnewaska's Laura Paulson held the Tigers to two hits, but Mary Rentz tripled in the fourth and scored on an error to tie the game. Paulson finished with 11 strikeouts and no walks.
The Lakers took a 1-0 lead in the second on Jillian Hendrickson's single.
Mackenzie Weatherly was the hard-luck loser. She gave up five hits, struck out seven, and didn't walk a batter.
The Lakers improve to 7-2 overall this season, while the Tigers fall to 2-2.
