Tiger girls fall to Montevideo at home

MORRIS - Morris Area/Chokio-Alberta and Montevideo were tied at 28 at the half, but the ThunderHawks pulled away to win 50-47 in a West Central Conference game on Tuesday.

"The Tigers fought a good battle, tying the ThunderHawks at half with Beth Holland hitting a paid of free-throws with 10 seconds left," said coach Dale Henrich. "We took really good care of the ball, having only three turnovers by halftime."

The Tigers were 6-for-12 from the line in the first half and 7-for-10 in the second.

Overall, the Tigers shot at 27 percent going 4-for-18 from three-point range.

"We ended the game with a tie for a season-low 10 turnovers and 32 rebounds."

Tracy Meichsner led with 10 rebounds, followed by fellow guard Holland with nine boards.

Katie Holzheimer had 13 points for the Tigers.

Kendyl Anderson led Montevideo with 18 points and sank four 3-pointers.

Tia Diggins added 16 points and Ashley Hoehne had 10.
