Tiger girls hand Benson a 57-47 loss at Morris

MORRIS, Minn. -- Morris Area/Chokio-Alberta led the entire game en route to a 57-47 win, handing Benson its sixth straight loss in girls' basketball Tuesday.

The Tigers are now 5-8 overall and 3-4 in the West Central Conference South.

"We threw up a ton of shots and had a couple of streaks where we made a few in a row," said coach Dale Henrich.

Late in the second half the Braves were down by only one at 38-37 when the

Tigers went on a 15-2 run to take a comfortable lead down the stretch.

"This was a close game with the Braves, as we really match up with them and it was a second evenly played game," added Henrich.

Katie Holzheimer paced the Tigers' offense with 22 points, while MaKenzie Smith added a double-double of 12 rebounds and 10 points. Beth Holland also scored 10 points while grabbing eight rebounds and dishing out six assists.

Emma Peterson netted a game-high 27 points for the Braves.
