Tiger girls pick up first victory

The Morris Area/ Chokio-Alberta girls' basketball team picked up its first win of the season with a 57-32 victory Saturday at Wheaton/Herman-Norcross.

The Tigers opened with an early lead and held it for the rest of the game.

"We had an 11-point lead going into halftime and opened it up to 25 by the end of the game," explained coach Dale Henrich. "The Tigers played well, but can cut down on some mistakes and play a lot better."

Eleven players got into the scoring column.

Katie Holzheimer led the Tigers with 17 points. Tracy Meichsner grabbed eight rebounds.
