The Morris Area/ Chokio-Alberta girls' basketball team traveled to Long Prairie Tuesday and picked up a 49-39 non-conference win.

"The game in the first half was a game of runs," explained Gagner.

The Thunder scored the first five before Heather Gagner hit a three and two free throws to tie it up. Long Prairie would score the next seven before the Tigers scored seven in a row to knot the game at twelve. The Thunder would lead again at 24-20 before the Tigers scored the last eight points of the half.

In the second half, the Tigers were able to slowly pull ahead and finished the game with a 10-point cushion.

"Megan Dierks had a big night, almost getting a double double with a season-high 19 points and nine rebounds," added Gagner.

Also scoring were Mary Rentz with eight, Stefanie Strobel with six, Gagner with five, Kelsey Amundson with four, Jenna Nelson with three, and Nicole Gillespie and Alissa Melberg with two apiece.
