Tiger girls win first round 59-32

The Morris Area girls' basketball team, the No. 1 seed in Section 6AA West, defeated No. 8 Breckenridge 59-32 in the quarterfinal game tonight in Morris.

With the win, the Tigers advance to play the winner of tonight's Staples-Motley versus Osakis game in the semi-finals at 6 p.m. Saturday, March 7, at the University of Minnesota, Morris.

In the other quarterfinals games, Benson played at Minnewaska Area, and Long Prairie-Grey Eagle played at West Central Area.

The second semi-final game is 8 p.m. on Saturday at UMM, and the sub-section championship game is set for 7 p.m., Tuesday, March 10, at UMM.
