The Morris Area Tiger Sharks hosted a home Northern Lights Swimming Association Conference Meet Tuesday, June 30. Participating were 61 swimmers from the Perham Lakes Area Penguins, Alexandria Swim Team, Fergus Falls Flyers, and Morris teams.

There were 14 local swimmers in 48 individual events and three relays achieving two Zone, one "A", five "B" and 12 "C" times according to the Minnesota State Time Standards.

Coaches Emma Roberts and Kelsey Greenwaldt were pleased with both the efforts of the first-time swimmers who participated and the improvement of the returning swimmers.

In the 200-yard medley relay, Natalie Johnston (backstroke - 36.90) Hannah Berg (butterfly - 43.17), Emma Roberts (breaststroke - 40.21), and Augusta Finzel (freestyle - 29.12) swam for a time of 2:29.40.

In the 100 free relay, the team of Michaela Englund, Julia Hoffmann, Rachel Erickson, and Lacey Entzi swam for a time of 1:43.16.

In the 200-yard free relay, the team of Brandon Pry, Gage Anderson, Hannah Berg, and Vaughn Dieter came in with a time of 2:17.51, while the team of Bryce Schmidgall, Agnes Dieter, Courtney Erickson, and Emma Roberts came in with a time of 2:46.14.

In the 7-8 year old category, Hannah Hoffmann swam in the 25-yard freestyle and backstroke events with times of 34.98 and 39.38. Lacey Entzi swam for two C times in the 50-yard freestyle and backstroke events with times of 49.97 and 56.99, respectively. She also swam in the 25-yard butterfly and breaststroke events with times of 31.32 and 39.48, respectively. Julia Ladner swam in the 50-yard freestyle and breaststroke with times of 1:02.52 and 1:23.16. She also swam for a C time in the 50-yard backstroke with a time of 1:02.30.

In the 9-10 year old category, Agnes Dieter swam for two C times in the 50-yard freestyle and backstroke with times of 43.33 and 52.15, respectively. She also swam the 50-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:00.57. Rachel Erickson swam in the 50-yard freestyle, breaststroke, and backstroke with times of 1:00.98, 1:04.01, and 1:12.16, respectively. She also swam in the 25-yard butterfly with a time of 31.50. Julia Hoffmann swam in the 50-yard freestyle and backstroke events with times of 53.05 and 1:15.99, respectively. She also swam in the 25-yard butterfly and breaststroke events with times of 31.35 and 37.08, respectively.

In the 11-12 year old category, Bryce Schmidgall swam in the 50-yard freestyle, backstroke, and breaststroke events with times of 56.12, 59.46, and 1:13.55, respectively. Courtney Erickson swam in the 50- and 100-yard freestyle events with times of 43.08 and 1:42.24, respectively. She also swam in the 50-yard backstroke with a time of 1:05.09 and in the 100-yard individual medley with a time of 2:09.69. Michaela Englund swam in the 50-yard freestyle and backstroke events with times of 47.94 and 1:06.94, respectively. She also swam in the 25-yard butterfly and breaststroke events with times of 33.56 and 39.11.

In the 13-14 year old category, Augusta Finzel swam the 50-yard freestyle with a B time of 29.74 and in the 100-yard backstroke, she finished with a C time of 1:20.33. She also swam in the 50-yard butterfly for a time of 35.19. Vaughn Dieter swam in four different 100-yard events. He swam in the freestyle, backstroke, butterfly, and IM events for times of 1:19.37, 1:30.78, 1:43.63, and 1:34.33. Gage Anderson swam in the 50- and 100-yard freestyle events with a B time of 29.16 and a C time of 1:06.90. He also swam in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 1:24.67.

In the 15-16 year old category, Hannah Berg swam for three C times in the 100- and 200-yard freestyle events as well as the 100-yard IM event with times of 1:11.33, 2:38.73, and 1:25.90, respectively. Natalie Johnston swam for two B times in the 100 IM and 200 freestyle events with times of 1:17.83 and 2:22.73, respectively. She also swam in the 50-yard butterfly with a time of 34.76.

Brandon Pry swam for two C times in the 50-yard freestyle and 100-yard breaststroke events with times of 32.07 and 1:31.75, respectively. Stefan Lemke swam in the 50- and 100-yard freestyle events with zone times of 22.99 and 50.38, respectively. He also finished with an A time of 1:58.15 in the 200-yard freestyle and a B time in the 500-yard freestyle event.
