Tigers compete in true team meet

The Morris Area boys' and girls' track and field teams participated in the Section 5A True Team meet Thursday in Paynesville.

The Tigers earned 239 points for eighth place of 10 teams. Paynesville's 562.5 points led the girls' teams. Redwood Valley took second with 462.5 and Canby/Minneota was third with 429.

Rachel Moser had the Tigers' only first-place result with jump of 8 feet in the pole vault.

The 4X200 relay team of Katie Huot, Tina Larson, Kelsey Loew, and Moser placed second with a time of 1:55.25.

Moser took sixth place with a time of 18.62 in the 100-meter hurdles.

The 4X400 relay team of Huot, Moser, Loew, and Larson placed sixth with a time of 4:25.04.

Loew finished seventh in the 300-meter hurdles with a time of 53.83.

The 4X800 relay team of Christine Schneider, Brooke Anderson, Megan Thooft, and Kelly Mahoney finished in seventh place with a time of 11:35.8.

Domnick placed seventh in the high jump with a 4-6.

Fehr finished seventh in the pole vault with a 6-6.

Katia Vantries finished seventh in the discus with a throw of 76-2.

Boys' results

The boys came in third with 416 points at the 10-team meet. First place went to MACCRAY with 534.5 points, while Yellow Medicine East finished second with 503 points.

MACCRAY captured the first-place medals in all four relay events.

The Tigers' 4X200 team of Steve Sarlette, Geoff Brustuen, Corey Nohl, and Matt Wulf placed second with a time of 1:37.66. The first-place time was 1:33.23.

Taylor Nohl finished second in the 400-meter dash with a time of 52.48. A sprinter from Osakis won with a time of 52.35.

Jackson Henrich took second place in the discus with a throw of 138 feet, six inches. The winning throw was a 176-5.

Henrich placed third in the triple jump with a 37-6.

Tom Kloos was third in the long jump with an 18-2.75.

Cody Cannon took fourth place in the triple jump with a 36-11.5.

The 4X100 relay team of Sarlette, Geoff Brustuen, Kloos, and Corey Nohl placed fourth with a time of 47.32.

Taylor Nohl took fifth in the 200-meter dash with a time of 23.92.

Matt Wulf was fifth in the 800-meter run with a 2:12.92.

Eric Goette was fifth in the pole vault with a jump of 11-0.

The 4X800 relay team of Cody Kill, Roy Reese, Nathan Fangmeier, and Goette took fifth with a time of 9:46.92.

Stefan Lemke placed sixth in the 1600-meter run with a time of 5:06.25.

Cannon placed sixth in the pole vault with an 11-0.

Connor Arnold took sixth in the shot put with a throw of 41-9.

Cannon finished seventh in the 110-meter high hurdles with a time of 19.39.

Henrich took seventh in the shot put with a toss of 41-6.

Lincoln Arnold finished seventh in the long jump with a leap of 17-3.75. He took eighth in the 400-meter dash with a time of 54.59.

Ben Ehlers finished eighth in the 1600-meter run with a time of 5:13.85.
