Ryan Beyer and Tyler Hansen both threw and ran for touchdowns, with Ethan Bruer on the receiving end of the two scoring passes, and the Morris Tigers won their Homecoming game 27-14 over Benson Friday night at Big Cat Stadium.
The Tigers rebounded from a West Central South loss last week and are 3-2 overall. They play Paynesville Area next Friday.
After a slow start and an 8-0 deficit, the Tigers scored four unanswered touchdowns to take a convincing lead.
The Tigers put up nearly 100 more yards of offense than the Braves.
The Tigers' first touchdown came in the second quarter on Beyer's 25-yard pass to Ethan Bruer.
Tyler Hansen scored on a 12-yard run with 4:14 remaining in the first half. Eric Riley punched in the two-point conversion to put Morris Area up 14-8 at halftime.
After the break, on a half-back option, Hansen threw a 37-yard pass to Bruer for the Tigers' third touchdown.
The final Tiger TD was scored on a 15-yard quarterback sneak by Beyer in the fourth quarter.
After Benson's final touchdown, a failed on-side kick was recovered by Brady Valnes and the Tigers ran out the clock deep in Benson's end.
