Tigers down Minnewaska in season opener

The Morris Area/Chokio-Alberta boys' basketball team won the season opener Friday night, downing Minnewaska 41-39.

The Tigers had built a 25-18 lead, but the determined Lakers battled back in the second half to tie the game at 34.

Riley Arndt with 13 points and Austin Dierks with 10 led the Tigers' offense that put up just 29 shots and was 14-of-27 at the line.

Trenton Nuetzelman led the Lakers with 11 points.
