The Morris Area/Hancock/Chokio-Alberta wrestling team traveled to Cass Lake for the annual Big Bear wrestling tournament Friday and Saturday.
Touted as one of the top winter tournaments, the Big Bear drew 36 teams. Many people say this is the closest you can come to wrestling in a State Tournament type atmosphere and that many of the top wrestlers in the State are competing at the Big Bear.
"This is a very tough tournament," said coach Troy Ostby. "We are very young, but wrestled well. This should help us build as we move forward."
Fergus Falls walked away with the team title scoring 180 points.
The Tigers tied for 20th with a score of 71.50 points.
The Tigers had three place winners.
Chokio-Alberta junior Zach Gibson placed third by winning in a fourth overtime period. He finished the tournament with a 5-1 record, losing only to the No. 1 ranked heavyweight in Class A.
