The Morris Area / Chokio-Alberta boys took seventh out of 11 teams with a 394 and were led by freshman captain Jacob Zosel. The top six individual finishers shot in the low 80s, and Zosel ranked 14th individually with an 89. Andrew Ulrich was ranked 34th with a 100.

The JV boys were in Atwater for a nine-hole meet. Nick Boots shot a 56, and Jarrett Carlsen and Taylor Staples both scored 60.

Minneota took the girls portion of the Ortonville Invite, 19 shots ahead of the host team. The MA/C-A girls took fifth with a 459. Maddie Hennen and Shiori Legate both scored 102 and took home medals for their efforts, placing ninth and tenth, respectively.

"It was a beautiful day for golf and the first full round for most of the players on the course," head coach Austen Miller said. "This is a great tournament for us because Ortonville is where we play our subsection. It was nice to get Miranda [Hesse], Peyton [Hennen], and Morgan [Ruona] an opportunity to play the course."

"Overall I was pretty pleased with the way we played," Miller said. "Our biggest competition for subsection is Benson and they beat us by 30 strokes, so we'll need to step it up a notch next time we come to Ortonville."

According to the schedule, the next meet for the Tigers is today in Olivia and Yellow Medicine East. The boys start at Olivia Golf Course at 11 a.m. and the girls start at Granite Run Golf Course in YME at 11 a.m. Then at 4 p.m. they flip-flop, the boys are at Granite Run in YME and the girls are in Olivia for a BOLD invite.

The Tigers host a home meet next Tuesday, April 29, weather permitting. The boys at 11 a.m. and the girls to follow at 4 p.m.
