Tigers host triangular

The Morris Area / Chokio-Alberta girls' tennis team opened their season hosting a triangular Friday, Aug. 18.
The home court advantage wasn't enough to get the first win of the season against West Central Area and Parkers Prairie.
The MACA team lost a close match to WCA 4-3.
Playing first singles was Britney Greenwaldt. She dropped the first set 2-6, came back in the second set 6-2, but then fell the the Knights' Kate McKenzie 3-6.
At second singles Jessica Schatzke played Steph Haack of WCA. She dropped both sets 3-6, 0-6.
Peary Webster fell to Brittany Hedstrom in two sets 0-6, 0-6, in the third singles match.
MACA got a their only singles win when Ashli Kramer defeated Hope Krusemark 6-2, 6-3 at fourth singles.
The first doubles team of Eileen Franey and Kayla Mullins defeated Sarah Wagner and Anne Wevley in two sets 7-5, 6-2.
At second doubles Sam Buro and Kacey Henrichs lost their first set 3-6, won the second set in a tiebreaker 7-6, but dropped the third set 2-6 to Mikayla Paulson and Becky Rauchbauer.
The third doubles team of LauraLou Delehanty and Johanna Luetmer put in solid two set wins over Amanda Hanson and Sarah Frisch 6-3, 7-6.
Playing exhibition for the Tigers was Krystal Healy with a win over Carly Gilbertson 7-6 and Steph Noel with a loss to Gilbertson 1-6.
After a break while WCA played Parkers Prairie, the girls played their second match of the day, falling to a tough Parkers Prairie team 6-1.
At first singles Jessica Schatzke fell to Sam Hemmerlin 1-6, 4-6.
Kayla Mullins, playing second singles, dropped two sets to Alayna Benzinger 3-6, 0-6.
Playing third singles, Lauralou Delehanty dropped two to Erica Parsons 0-6, 0-6.
At fourth singles Johanna Luetmer dropped both sets to Tiffany Springer 0-6, 0-6.
In the first doubles match Eileen Franey and Britney Greenwaldt had the team's only win over Kayla Thoennes 6-0, 6-0.
The second doubles team of Ashli Kramer and Peary Webster fell to Kelsey Warren and Kayla Sjobeck 1-6, 3-6.
At third doubles Sam Buro and Lacey Henrichs were defeated by Dannille Zwiig and Ayla Revering 1-6, 3-6.
Playing exhibition doubles, Krystal Healy and Steph Noel fell to Brittany Hendershot and Marii Seifert 1-6, 2-6.
The tennis team has been busy in August. They participated in a quadrangular Monday, Aug. 21 and hosted Yellow Medicine East and Brooton-Belgrade-Elrosa last Friday.
This week the girls travel to Sauk Centre and Swanville.
Their next home match is Monday, Sept. 5 against Long Prairie.
