Several members of the Morris Area track and field team have qualified for the state championships this Friday and Saturday at Hamline University in St. Paul. Class A events begin at 3 p.m. both days.
Each of the Tiger qualifiers placed in the top two in individual events or took first place in relays at last week's Section 6A meet in Moorhead.
Corey Nohl, Taylor Nohl, Matt Wulf, and Lincoln Arnold will be participating in both the 4X200 meter relay and the 4X400 meter relay.
Alternates for the 4X200 team are Ross Larson and Steven Sarlette.
Larson raced a personal-best time of 23.94 in the 200-meter dash at the section meet and placed sixth.
Stefan Lemke and Cody Cannon are alternates for the 4X400 relay team.
The 4X200 relay team will compete in heat two of the preliminaries Friday at approximately 3:45 p.m. Of the 11 relays that have qualified, the top two from both heats, plus the next five best times, will advance to the finals scheduled for Saturday at 4:10 p.m.
The 4X400 relay team will run in heat one Friday around 6:35 p.m. Ten teams have qualified and nine will advance to the finals on Saturday at 6:32 p.m.
Cannon is scheduled to run the 110-meter hurdles in heat one of the preliminaries Friday at approximately 3:10 p.m. Of the 16 qualified hurdlers, nine will advance to the finals scheduled for Saturday at 3:42 p.m.
Cannon will be competing in heat two of the 300-meter intermediate hurdles Friday at 4:52 p.m. Nine of 16 hurdlers will advance to Saturday's finals at 5:38 p.m.
Taylor Nohl will be running in heat two of the preliminaries Friday at 4:32 p.m. There are 17 qualified runners and nine will advance to the finals Saturday at 5:11 p.m.
Lemke will be running in heat one of the 800-meter run at 5:14 p.m. Friday. Nine of 16 runners will advance to the finals Saturday at 5:53 p.m.
Lemke will run in the 1600-meter finals Saturday at approximately 4:31 p.m.
Arnold will be running in heat one of the 200-meter dash preliminaries Friday at 5:36 p.m. Of the 16 runners, nine will advance to Saturday's finals at 6:10 p.m.
Jackson Henrich will compete in flight one of the discus throw on Saturday at 3:45 p.m.
On Friday, Henrich will compete in flight one of the triple jump at 3 p.m.
Rachel Moser will compete in the pole vault competition Saturday at 3 p.m.
