The Morris Area boys' basketball team moved to two games ahead of Paynesville and Montevideo in the West Central Conference South with a 62-49 victory over Benson Saturday at home.
After a slight 31-29 halftime advantage, the Tigers went on to score another 31 points in the second half, while holding the Braves to only 20.
Cory Hennen and Lincoln Arnold led the charge with 18 and 17 points, respectively.
The Tigers were shooting at 45.1 percent (23-51) from the field. The Braves were 32.1 percent (18-56).
At the free-throw line, the Tigers hit 11 of 21. The Braves were 8-of-16.
Arnold was 5-of-7 at the line.
Also scoring were Taylor Nohl, Chris Scott, and Jackson Henrich with seven apiece, Tyler Meichsner with four, and Corey Nohl with two.
Henrich led the Tigers at the boards, grabbing 11 rebounds. He also blocked six shots.
Scott and Meichsner each dished out four assists to lead the Tigers.
