Tigers run in Appleton meet

The Morris Area cross country teams ran in the Lac qui Parle Valley/Dawson-Boyd meet Sept. 3 in Appleton.

Two top-10 placings helped the Tigers to a third-place finish in the boys' varsity 5000M run.

Roy Reese finished the course in 19:16.71 for fourth place. Daniel Tiernan took seventh place with a time of 19:57.99. Nathan Fangmeier finished 12th in 21:57.35.

John Zierke was 24th in 22:12.94. Steve Jungst was 25th in 22:33.98; Alex Sinclair was 26th in 22:35.77; and Sean Brustuen was 27th in 22:36.18.

Sarah Kuhn led the Tiger girls with a 14th-place finish in 19:13.25. Monserrat Mendez finished 26th in 21:42.78. Tahni Jungst was 27th in 22:25.86.

In the Junior Varsity boys' run, Morris Area had three Tigers finish in the top 10.

Matt Cotter finished in second place with a time of 16:35. Jacob Erickson took sixth place with a 17:11. Gage Anderson finished ninth in 17:37. Caleb Sanderson finished 13th in 18:46. Andrew Rentz took 15th in 18:53. Mitch Carbert, running his first race, finished 31st in 20:37.

In the junior high race, Aaron Goulet finished fifth in 9:49. Chris Tiernan was 26th in 12:28 and Yasha Hoffman was 28th in 12:49.
