Tigers set season-best times at Detroit Lakes
The Morris Area/Chokio-Alberta boys' swimming team traveled to Detroit Lakes Tuesday for a triangular with the host team and Perham.
In the 200 freestyle Roy Reese swam a time of 1:59.20 for a second-place finish and a new season-best time.
In the 50 freestyle Dalton Pieske swam a time of 30.02, Owen Erickson swam a time of 31.35, Brett Blom swam a time of 1:00.03 for a new personal-best, J.P. Pirello swam a time of 32.20, and Vaughn Dieter swam a time of 27.99 for a new season-best.
"Brett showed amazing improvement," said coach Anita Nelson. "He has dropped 19 seconds since our first swim meet this season."
In the 100 freestyle, Andrew Messner swam a time of 1:14.19 for a news season-best time and Pirello swam a 1:13.82 for a season- and personal-best time.
In the 500 freestyle Reese finished in 5:43.87, setting a season-best time.
In the 200 freestyle relay, the team of Blom, Pirello, Pieske, and Erickson finished with a time of 2:38.61.
In the 100 backstroke Dieter set a new season-best time of 1:09.99.
The 400 freestyle relay team of Reese, Erickson, Messner, and Dieter finished with a time of 4:26.18.
