Tigers shut out Braves in Monday's baseball action

Conference front-runner Morris Area/Chokio-Alberta shut out Benson 13-0 Monday at Chizek Field.

The Tigers scored all of their runs in the first three innings to give starting pitcher Eric Riley plenty of support.

Riley struck out seven and gave up just two hits and one walk in four scoreless innings. Matt Lembcke pitched a scoreless fifth that featured two strikeouts to preserve the shutout.

Eric Riley, Cole Riley, and Ethan Bruer had two hits apiece, while both Rileys and Ryan Beyer each knocked in three runs for the Tigers.

Tyler Hansen was 1-for-2 with a double; Ryan Beyer was 1-for-3; Eric Riley was 2-for-3 with a double; Cole Riley was 2-for-2 with a double; Brady Valnes was 1-for-2; Travis Rinkenberger was 1-for-1 with an RBI; and Ethan Bruer was 2-for-2 with an RBI.

Logan Connelly, Anthony Berreau, and Pat Brandt singled to account for Benson's three hits.

The Tigers are now 9-1 in the West Central Conference South and 13-1 overall. The Braves fall to 3-8.
