Tigers shut out Lakers 16-0

After a scoreless first half, Morris Area put up two touchdowns, a two-point conversion, and a safety to shut out the Lakers 16-0 at Minnewaska Area Friday night.

The Tigers pounded the ground for a total of 287 yards on 54 carries.

Tyler Hansen threw a halfback pass to Tanner Berning for a 27-yard touchdown in the third quarter, then Ethan Bruer scored on a 26-yard run for a 14-0 Morris lead. Lewis Varnum made a tackle in the end zone for the safety.

Hansen finished with 172 yards rushing on 19 carries.

The Tigers' defense held Minnewaska to 71 total yards.
