Tigers split matches during MAHS Homecoming Week

After an exciting 3-1 win over BOLD at home on Tuesday, the Tigers fell to Lac qui Parle Valley in three on the road Thursday. The Tigers are now 2-3 in West Central Conference South volleyball action.

The Tigers kicked off homecoming week with a come-from-behind victory in games one and four to defeat BOLD 3-1. The scores were 25-23, 25-13, 11-25, 25-23.

"We dug ourselves a hole and had to get to work and fight back," said coach Becky Hayden. "The team showed character by not giving up and finding a way to come back and win."

Alisha Roske led the Tigers in digs with 15.

Mary Rentz was the team leader in kills with eight. She also recorded 14 digs, two assists, and one ace serve.

Brianna Neuman had 26 assists to lead the Tigers. She also recorded two ace serves on 13-for-13 serving and tallied two kills.

Alissa Melberg had seven kills, six digs, one ace block, and one assist.

Sara Beyer had six kills, five digs, and one ace serve.

Erin Schieler recorded five kills, five digs, and one ace block. She was 17-for-17 serving.

Dani Staples recorded five kills and two digs.

Jenna Nelson had three kills and two digs for the Tigers.

Shawna Itzen recorded two assists.

Brooke Anderson had 10 digs and one ace serve.

Heather Gagner had six digs. She was a perfect 11-for-11 at the serving line.

Kelsey Amundson had one dig.

It was a different story Thursday on the road when the Eagles won three in row, 35-21, 25-15, 25-20.

Amundson and Nelson had 13 digs apiece to lead the Tigers.

Nelson also recorded five kills and two ace serves.

Fallon Meixel also recorded two ace serves, along with one kill and one dig.

Neuman had 15 assists to lead the Tigers, along with seven digs and one kill.

Rentz paced the Tigers with six kills and 10 digs.

Staples had three digs and one kill.

Melberg had three kills and two digs.

Schieler had two kills and one dig.

Itzen recorded three assists and two digs.

Beyer had an ace block and three digs.

Anderson had nine digs for the Tigers.

Gagner recorded seven digs.
