Mackenzie Weatherly struck out 19, including 10 in a row at one point, en route to spinning a two-hit shutout Tuesday to help Morris Area/Chokio-Alberta blank Paynesville 7-0 in a West Central Conference South game.

Weatherly struck out the side in the first, fourth, fifth and sixth innings and faced just four batters over the minimum. The senior struck out the last batter she faced in the third and then fanned the next nine batters. Weatherly ended the game for the Tigers by notching two strikeouts.

The Tigers did all their scoring in the first three innings, scoring once in the first and three in each the second and third.

Sadie Fischer, Dani Schultz and Holly Amundson had two hits apiece to ignite the Tigers' 10-hit attack. Schultz doubled in two runs in the third to extend the lead to 3-0. Fischer and Haley Scheldorf also doubled.

Katie Holzheimer was 1-for-2; Hannah Sayles was 1-for-3; and Haley Henrichs was 1-for-2.

Megan Wuertz doubled in the second and Sam Dahl singled in the third for Paynesville.
