Tigers sweep Lakers to move into second place

Morris Area/Chokio-Alberta swept Minnewaska 25-13, 25-17, 25-13 Tuesday on the road to move into a tie with the Lakers for second place in the West Central Conference.

The upset gives unbeaten Sauk Centre the conference title outright.

The Mainstreeters are 11-0 in the conference, while the Tigers and Lakers are now both 8-3 in the league. Each team has two conference matches remaining.

Sydney Engebretson had 13 kills and Paige Schieler put away another 10 to ignite the Tigers' offense.

Chelsey Ehleringer added three ace serves, MicKenley Nagel had three ace blocks, and Mikaela Henrichs led the defense with 22 digs.

Pacing the Lakers with eight kills each were Alison Hoeper and Lexi Amundson.
