"This was a good win for us against a very tough team," said coach Ken Gagner. "Osakis has a great inside player that we were fortunate to keep in check and they didn't have a great night from the outside either."

The Tigers jumped to a 14-3 lead and held on for the entire game.

Osakis cut it to three in the second half (30-27), but could get no closer.

"We managed to put some small streaks together and eventually I think they got worn down," added Gagner. "Nicole Gillespie had a huge play for us when the lead was down to three as she hustled for a rebound and also was able to pick up a foul on Kelsie Larson - the Silverstreaks' outstanding post. That was her fourth on the night and she ended up sitting for awhile.

"I think our balanced offensive attack was another key reason for our success."

The Tigers were shooting at just over 47 percent from the floor.

Megan Dierks led the Tigers with 13 points. Heather Gagner added 11 and Jenna Nelson had 10.

Also scoring were Alissa Melberg with eight, Stefanie Strobel with seven, Gillespie with six, Mary Rentz with four, and Kelly Ritter with two.

Rentz led the team with seven rebounds, while Dierks and Nelson each grabbed six.

Strobel recorded four steals.

Strobel, Rentz, and Kelsey Amundson were each credited with four assists.
