
Tigers swim to five firsts at Montevideo
The Morris Area/ Chokio-Alberta boys' swimming team took first place in five events at Montevideo Thursday, Jan. 17, but fell to the Thunder Hawks 69-47.
Roy Reese took first place in the 500 freestyle with a time of 5:28.61. In the 200 freestyle, Reese placed second with a time of 1:58.74.
Vaughn Dieter took first place in the 100 freestyle with a time of 1:01.87. Dieter also placed first in the 100 backstroke with a time of 1:10.68.
The team of Tanner Larson, Jacob Just, J.P. Pirello, and Isaak Kolstad finished first in the 200 freestyle relay in 2:14.57.
The team of Reese, Andrew Messner, Jacob Johnson, and Dieter placed first in the 400 freestyle relay in 4:29.23.
Messner placed second in the 100 free style with a time of 1:16.32.
The 200 medley relay team of Dieter, Larson, Messner, and Dalton Pieske finished with a time of 2:31.62.
In the 50 freestyle Pirello swam a 31.32, Kolstad swam a 35.41, Just swam a 40.93, Larson swam a 31.82, Pieske swam a 33.02, and Johnson swam a 34.46.
In the 100 freestyle Pirello had a time of 1:16.93, Just recorded a 1:32.40, Dieter swam a 101.87, and Messner finished in 1:16.32.
Kolstad finished the 100 breaststroke in 1:46.39.
