Tigers top BOLD with late comeback
Morris Area/Chokio-Alberta scored five runs in the top of the seventh inning to break a 4-4 tie and go on to a 9-4 West Central Conference South victory over BOLD on Tuesday.
The Tigers put two runners on in the seventh via an error and a hit batsman. Ryan Beyer then rapped a two-run double and Eric Riley clubbed a two-run homer.
The Tigers maintained their one-game lead on Lac qui Parle Valley in the WCS race.
Alex Erickson tossed a five-hitter for the win. He walked three and struck out seven.
Beyer finished 3-for-4, including a two-run homer, and drove in four runs for the Tigers. Eric Riley was 2-for-4, including a double, and knocked in three runs. Cole Riley was 1-for-3; Brady Valnes was 1-for-4 with an RBI; Mitch Kill was 1-for-2, Travis Rinkenberger was 1-for-4; and Ethan Bruer was 1-for-3.
Jake Marcus unleashed a three-run homer for BOLD.
