Tigers win third straight in baseball
Eric Riley's bat and arm helped Morris Area/Chokio-Alberta defeat Minnewaska 3-1 Tuesday at home in a West Central Conference South game that took just 1:28 to complete.
Riley knocked in all three runs for the Tigers and also threw two hitless innings of relief to earn a save.
Riley singled in Alex Erickson in the third to give the Tigers a quick 1-0 lead. Minnewaska then tied it in the following inning when Kevin Jenks' double plated Shane Bosek.
Riley then put the Lakers ahead for good in the fifth when he lined a triple to left-center field that scored Erickson and Ryan Beyer, who advanced Erickson to third on a double.
Erickson worked the first five innings to get the win, allowing just three hits and one walk while striking out six.
Tyler Hansen was 1-for-2; Erickson was 2-for-4 with two runs; Beyer 1-for-2; Eric Riley 2-for-3 wtih a triple; Mitch Kill was 1-for-2; Brady Valnes was 1-for-2; and Brody Bahr was 1-for-1 with a double.
