Tigers wrestle to victory

The Morris Area/ Hancock/Chokio-Alberta wrestling team picked up its first victory of the season winning 42-33 over Ortonville Thursday in the Tigers' gym.

The Tigers racked up 24 points with pins over the Trojans, and although they had to forfeit three weight classes, the Trojans had two open classes, as well.

The Tigers got an early lead at 103 pounds when Tony Domnick pinned Colby Gimmested in 1:22.

At 112 pounds, Herman Hill won a 4-3 decision over Isaac Cloos.

Jordan Thooft picked up a forfeit at 119 pounds.

At 125, John Zierke lost by fall in 0:42 to John Eustice.

At 130, Eric Goette won by fall in 0:50 over Andrew Dittel.

Josh Nelson picked up a forfeit at 135 pounds.

Trojans Jorden Roggenbuck, Damion Pillatzki, and Jason Roggenbuck won by forfeit at 140, 145, and 152 pounds.

Tanner Berning, wrestling at 160 pounds, pinned Travis Diekmann in 4:41.

At 171, Wade Ehlers lost by fall in 2:53 to Aaron Skinner.

At 189, Ryan Beyer lost a 10-3 decision to Dillan Roggenbuck.

Jeff Knobloch, wrestling at 215 pounds, won a 5-4 decision over Isaac Nelson.

Wrestling at heavyweight, Zach Gibson won by fall in 4:23 over William Kaiser.
