Top honors at State FFA for Hancock students

April 25-27 was the Minnesota FFA State Convention and 20 members of the Hancock FFA Chapter attended. It was a great experience for all and everyone had a great time.

The members who attended the convention competed in CDEs, or Career Development Events, or participated as delegates. The CDE teams that made it to state were the farm business management, general livestock and crops teams. The highlight was the farm management team of Jason Schaefer, Andrew Steiner, Wade Feuchtenberger and Sara Nohl placing third in the state as a team. Andrew Steiner placed second individually in the state contest.

The general livestock team was: Levi Carter, Dylan Reese, Kaylee Voorhees, and Quincy Carter. The crops team was: of Brady Koehl, Jeffrey Peterson, Daniel Lonneman, and Michells Algarate, with Brady receiving a gold placing individually. Jason Schaefer was recognized for his proficiency in Diversified Crop Production Placement and will be going to nationals in October. The delegates who attended from Hancock were: Illissa Koehl, Cory Schroeder, Rachel Spohr, Jake Ascheman, and Collin Cunningham. The Minnesota FFA State Convention was a huge success and the Hancock chapter is looking forward to attending next year.
