Two basketball clinics set for June in Hancock
Two basketball clinics will be held in June for both boys and girls. The Hancock Dribbling Clinic will be held June 16-19 for boys and girls in grades K-4. The clinic will be held at the Hancock Public School from 1:30 p.m. to 4 p.m., with Hancock girls coach Jodi Holleman and Bree Holleman are the instructors. The cost is $25.
The clinic will focus on the fundamentals of basketball. The Hancock varsity team works on the basic fundamentals every day at practice. This camp will focus on dribbling, dribbling, and more dribbling. There will be coordination drills, dribbling with two balls, introduce tons of dribbling drills and will be using goggles so that the athletes cannot look down at the basketball while dribbling.
The second clinic is a shooting clinic which will be held June 23-25. This clinic is for boys and girls in grades 4-8 and will run from 1:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Hancock School. The cost and instructors will be the same.
This camp will focus on the proper shooting form which is extremely important for young athletes to learn. There will be several shooting drills and shooting routines throughout the camp.
No t-shirts or awards will be given out at the camps. However, a dribbling show will be held on June 18 to show the parents all the newly learned skills. Both clinics are limited to 30 athletes each.
