UMM named finalist in Climate Leadership Awards video contest
MORRIS — The University of Minnesota, Morris is a finalist in the 2014 Second Nature Climate Leadership Awards, an annual competition among signatories of the American College and University Presidents’ Climate Commitment (ACUPCC). The awards feature a public, online voting component, which is open through April 15.
This year, the award program’s fifth, drew the largest and most competitive pool of nominations to date. Finalists were invited to produce videos promoting their own sustainability efforts. Second Nature is partnering with Planet Forward, a web-to-television initiative that documents energy, climate, and sustainability advances, to offer a public voting competition featuring these videos.
To vote for your favorite video, visit planetforward.org/content/climate-leadership-awards-2014 and click on the box “Do you think this helps move the planet forward?” You can vote once daily on all devices April 1–15. Viewers are encouraged not only to vote, but also to help spread the word about energy innovation.
In tandem with the voting competition, Second Nature will run a feature on each finalist and their video throughout the month of April. Morris will be featured on the Second Nature and ACUPCC websites on April 3 and 18. The Second Nature Board of Directors will choose award winners in late spring. Additonal information is available at secondnature.org/awards.
