Nature Quest Camp

UMM is hosting a summer camp. The Morris Nature Quest Camp is for children who will be entering 4th or 5th grade this coming fall. The four-day camp will take place on the Morris campus from July 16 until July 19 from 8 a.m.-2 p.m. each day. For more information, please visit morris.umn.edu/greensummer.

Renewable Energy Tours

UMM is offering free renewable energy tours for the public. The bus will leave at 2 p.m. and return by 4 p.m., on July 14 (leaving from East Side Park), July 27 (leaving from the Welcome Center), and August 11 (leaving from the Stevens County Fairgrounds by the Lee Community Center). During the tour you can see and touch a biomass gasification reactor, wind turbines, a solar thermal system, solar photovoltaic (PV) modules, and more. Save your seat on the bus by pre-registering at morris.umn.edu/greensummer.

Morris Area Farmers Market

The Morris Healthy Eating Team encourages you to visit the Morris Area Farmers Market where farmers, growers, producers, and artisans sell their own products directly to the public, allowing customers to have a direct relationship with the producer of the items they purchase. The market goes from 3-6 p.m. every Monday and Thursday at East Side Park at 7th Street and Colorado, Morris.

Gateway

The Gateway Program is wrapping up their second week at UMM. The four-week summer program that began on July 8 prepares talented students of multi-ethnic backgrounds for success in their Morris college careers through courses, workshops, seminars and recreational activities. Gateway students work with peer mentors and the Multi-Ethnic Student Program (MSP) staff.

STELLAR

Summer Transition for English Language and Liberal Arts Readiness (STELLAR) begins on Monday, July 16 and ends on Sunday, Aug. 12 at the Morris Campus. STELLAR provides incoming international students with a holistic approach to living and attending college in an English-speaking country.

WCSA Reunion

Alumni of the West Central School of Agriculture (WCSA) will reunite on the Morris campus Saturday, July 21. WCSA alumni will get the chance to reconnect with classmates and share a day of reminiscing. The All-School Reunion is an annual event, bringing alumni from West-Central classes of years past.
