A preview of public events at the University of Minnesota, Morris and elsewhere.
Pioneer Public TV showing
Promise of the Prairie: Education in Three Acts, a documentary created by University of Minnesota, Morris (UMM) Media Services, explores three very different educational institutions that have all made their home on the same plot of land--the Morris campus. Promise of the Prairie will be shown Aug. 5 at 3 p.m. over Pioneer Pubic Television.
Morris Area Farmers Market
The Morris Healthy Eating Team encourages you to visit the Morris Area Farmers Market where farmers, growers, producers, and artisans sell their own products directly to the public, allowing customers to have a direct relationship with the producer of the items they purchase. The market goes from 3-6 p.m. every Monday and Thursday at East Side Park at 7th Street and Colorado, Morris.
Renewable Energy Tour
UMM is offering a free renewable energy tour for the public. The bus will leave at 2 p.m. and return by 4 p.m., on Aug. 11 (leaving from the Stevens County Fairgrounds by the Lee Community Center). During the tour you can see and touch a biomass gasification reactor, wind turbines, a solar thermal system, solar photovoltaic (PV) modules, and more. Save your seat on the bus by pre-registering at morris.umn.edu/greensummer.
