German Conversation Table
The German Conversation table is an informal opportunity to converse in Deutsch. People with all levels of proficiency are welcome! The German Conversation table is held every Monday at 6 p.m. in the Student Center’s Turtle Mountain Cafe.
Inaugural Wilbert H. Ahern Distinguished Lecture in American Indian Studies
The inaugural Wilbert H. Ahern Distinguished Lecture in American Indian Studies will take place on Monday, March 4, at 7:30 p.m. in the Humanities Fine Arts Recital Hall. The lecture, “Firsting and Lasting: Writing Indians out of Existence in New England,” will be presented by Jean O’Brien, professor of history at the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities. Jill Doerfler ’01 assistant professor of American Indian studies at the University of Minnesota, Duluth, will introduce O’Brien. A book signing featuring O’Brien and Doerfler will follow at 9 p.m. The Wilbert H. Ahern Distinguished Lecture Series is made possible, in part, by gifts and contributions to the Bert and Janet Ahern American Indian Studies Enhancement Fund, established in recognition of their retirements from the University of Minnesota, Morris. The lecture will be live streamed at morris.umn.edu/ondemand.
French Conversation Table

Jane Addams Project
The Jane Addams Project is a cross-cultural discussion circle for Spanish- and English-speaking Morris residents and students. The discussion will be held on Tuesday, March 5, at 7 p.m. in Imholte Hall 111.
Word After Word: Perspectives on Pre-modern German Phraseology
On Tuesday, March 5, there will be a lecture presented by Stephen Carey, assistant professor of German, on the perspectives on pre-modern German phraseology. The event will take place at 7 p.m. in Humanities Fine Arts 6.
Spanish Conversation Table
Please join us at La Mesa de Conversación en la Universidad de Minnesota, Morris—otherwise known as the Spanish Conversation Table at UMM—on Wednesday, March 6, at 6 p.m. in the Student Center’s Turtle Mountain Cafe. On Wednesday, March 6, there will be a musical performance entitled Maestro Factor II. The event will be held in the Humanities Fine Arts Recital Hall, beginning at 7:30 p.m.
Thursday Afternoon Faculty Seminar (TAFS)
Brook Miller, associate professor of English, Rebecca Dean, assistant professor of anthropology, and Sarah Buchanan, associate professor of French, will present a Thursday Afternoon Faculty Seminar (TAFS) entitled "Internationaliz-ing Teaching and Learning: Let's Do This!" on Thursday, March 7. Refreshments will be served at 4:30 p.m. outside Imholte Hall 109. The presentation begins at 5 p.m. and will be followed by discussion.

Morris Feminists Presents—Girl Rising
On Friday, March 8, there will be a showing of Girl Rising in the Science and Math Auditorium, beginning at 6 p.m. This event is sponsored by Morris Feminists and is open for public viewing.
R. Carlos Nakai, Wm. Eaton, Will Clipman Performance
The Nakai, Eaton, Clipman Trio will perform on Saturday, March 9, at 7:30 p.m. in the Student Center’s Edson Auditorium. This is the season finale of the 2012-13 Performing Arts Series.
