Computer Science Presentation: Writing an Interpreter

On Monday, March 25, at 5:30 p.m. in Science and Math 2200, Tim Snyder ’13 will be discussing his experience of writing an interpreter for an esoteric programming language Chef. Esoteric languages are languages created for entertainment, but provide an example for writing an interpreter. The talk is a part of computer science Bits and Bytes talk series and is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be provided.

German Conversation Table

The German Conversation table is an informal opportunity to converse in Deutsch. People with all levels of proficiency are welcome. The German Conversation table is held every Monday at 6 p.m. in the Student Center’s Turtle Mountain Cafe.

CAC Concerts Presents—Dessa, with special guest Aby Wolf and Her Claws

On Monday, March 25, at 7:30 p.m. in the Student Center’s Edson Auditorium, the Campus Activities Council (CAC) Concerts Committee is bringing to campus Dessa and special guest Aby Wolf and Her Claws. Tickets are available at tickets.umn. edu.

French Conversation Table

The French Conversation table is an informal opportunity to converse in French. People with all levels of proficiency are welcome. The French Conversation table is held every Tuesday at 7 p.m. in the Student Center’s Turtle Mountain Cafe.

Jane Addams Project

The Jane Addams Project is a cross-cultural discussion circle for Spanish - and English-speaking Morris residents and students. The discussion will be held on Tuesday, March 26, at 7 p.m. in Imholte Hall 111.

GWSS Discussion Series—"Engaging the Bible in the Name of Social Justice: Nora Zeale Hurston and Anita Diamant"

Michael Lackey, associate professor of English, will present "Engaging the Bible in the Name of Social Justice: Nora Zeale Hurston and Anita Diamant" on Wednesday, March 27, at 5:30 p.m. in Imholte 109. Several times each month faculty members doing gender, women, and sexuality studies (gwss)-related scholarship will present their “work in progress.” Each work showcased is at a different stage of production, but all the presenters are looking for lively discussion and feedback from the audience.

Spanish Conversation Table

Please join us at La Mesa de Conversación en la Universidad de Minnesota, Morris—otherwise known as the Spanish Conversation Table at UMM—on Wednesday, March 27, at 6 p.m. in the Student Center’s Turtle Mountain Cafe. All are welcome! Students, faculty, staff, and community members have casual conversations in Spanish about a variety of topics. Meet new people and improve your Spanish.

HFA Gallery Opening Reception

On Thursday, March 28, there will be an opening reception for the annual juried student art exhibit. Beginning at 7 p.m. in the Humanities Fine Arts Gallery.

 Open Mic Night

On Thursday, March 28, there will be an Open Mic event beginning at 9:30 p.m. in the Student Center’s Turtle Mountain Cafe. Students are welcome to participate and enjoy various performances.

Russian Conversation Table

The Russian Conversation table is an informal opportunity to converse in Russian. People with all levels of proficiency are welcome! It is held every Friday at 4 p.m. in the Student Center’s Turtle Mountain Cafe.

CAC Films Presents—Ferris Bueller’s Day Off

On Friday, March 29, there will be a showing of Ferris Bueller’s Day Off in the Science and Math Auditorium, beginning at 9:30 p.m. This event is sponsored by Campus Activities Council (CAC) Films.
