Performances of Uncommon Women and Others

Performances of the UMM Theatre Discipline’s Uncommon Women and Others will be held Saturday, April 12, at 7:30 p.m, and on Sunday, April 13, at 2 p.m. in the Humanities Fine Arts Black Box Theatre. Undergraduate Research Symposium

The Jane Addams Project Presents: The America’s Jam

The Morris Jane Addams will host The America’s Jam on Saturday, April 12, from 7–9:30 p.m. at the Pomme de Terre Food Co-op. Listen to some great music and celebrate Latin American culture. The event is free, open to the public, and kid-friendly.

"Renovation in the Ivory Tower: Models of Sustainable Diversity within the Academy"

Molly Paxton, a University of Minnesota, Twin Cities graduate student in philosophy, will present a lecture entitled "Renovation in the Ivory Tower: Models of Sustainable Diversity within the Academy" on Monday, April 14, at 7:30 p.m. in Imholte Hall 109. This event is sponsored by the Philosophy Discipline and is co-sponsored by Gender, Women, and Sexuality Studies; the Commission on Women; and the Division of the Humanities.

Tom Hennen Poetry Reading

Tom Hennen, author of Darkness Sticks to Everything, will present a public reading and book signing at the Briggs Library Association’s annual recognition of of Enhancement Grant Awards. The event will take place on Tuesday, April 15, at 7 p.m. in the lower level of Briggs Library. The public is welcome, and refreshments will be served.

Mixed Student Recital

There will be a mixed student recital on Tuesday, April 15, at 7:30 p.m. in the  Humanities Fine Arts Recital Hall. This regular concert series features UMM instrumental and vocal students performing varied repertoire. Free admission; no ticket required.

"Kierkegaard on the Distinction between Despair and Depression"

There will be a lecture entitled "Kierkegaard on the Distinction between Despair and Depression" presented by Gordon Marino, professor of philosophy at Saint Olaf College, on Wednesday, April 16, at 7 p.m. in Imholte Hall 109.

The Vagina Monologues

UMM students will perform The Vagina Monologues on Thursday, April 17, at 7 p.m. in the Student Center’s Turtle Mountain Cafe. This is an episodic play written by Eve Ensler. The event is sponsored by Morris Feminists.

Faculty Recital—Scott Horey

There will a faculty music recital performed by Scott Horey on Friday, April 18, at 5 p.m. in the Humanities Fine Arts Recital Hall.

Drag Show

The annual Drag Show will be held on Friday, April 18, at 7 p.m. in the Student Center’s Edson Auditorium. The event is sponsored by Morris E-Quality.

Faculty Jazz Recital—Scott Horey and Jason Squinobal

There will a faculty jazz-music recital performed by Scott Horey and Jason Squinobal on Saturday, April 19, at 7 p.m. in the Humanities Fine Arts Recital Hall.

CAC Films Presents—2014 UMMy Awards

The annual UMMy Awards will be held on Saturday, April 19,  in the Student Center’s Edson Auditorium at 8 p.m. This event is sponsored by Campus Activities Council (CAC) Films.

CAC Concerts and KUMM Battle of the Bands

KUMM and CAC are hosting a Battle of the Bands event on Sunday, April 20, at 7:30 p.m. in the Student Center’s Edson Auditorium. The deadline for sign-up was April 1.
