UMM track and field earn 28 All-UMAC honors

The University of Minnesota, Morris earned 14 All-UMAC Honors in women's track and field on Wednesday, May 7. The 13 athletes earned the awards after competing in the 2014 UMAC Outdoor Track and Field Championships on Saturday, May 3.
For the women, Carly Denler won the pole vault, Kaitlin Kamm won the 100m hurdles and high jump and Linda Keller won the 1500m for the Cougars, all individual champions.
Laura Borkenhagen, Tanna Boyle, Teja Foy, Hannah Goemann, Kelsi Kolle, Anna Peterson, Claire Sylvestre and Rachel Wingenbach were all part of relay championships for the Cougars. All relay members were named to the All-UMAC Team.
Tori Holt and Amber Hosie also earned All-UMAC Honors after scoring major points for the Cougars. Holt finished second in the shot and fourth in the discus. Hosie had a trio of top finishes; second in the hammer and third in both the javelin and discus.
After finishing a close second in the UMAC Track and Field Championships, the Cougars men also had 14 athletes earn All-UMAC Honors. Chalmer Combellick was the UMAC Track Athlete of the Meet after winning the 1500m, 400m and 800m.
Seven different athletes won individual events for Minnesota Morris last Saturday helping them earn All-Conference honors. In addition to Combellick; Ryan DeRoeck (400m hurdles), Leandro Dower (200m), Nathan Harder (110m hurdles), Caleb Schneider (3000m steeplechase), Josh Simmons (100m), and Alex Ukkelburg (Javelin, Pole Vault) were all individual champions.
Tony Ceroll, Conor Garrity, Otto Marckell, Mike Okeson, Josiah Rieimer, Ben Shabb and Nicholas Solberg all earned All-UMAC honors after being on a winning relay team. The Cougars won the 4x100m and 4x800m relays.
