University of Minnesota, Morris enrollment down slightly after record-setting year
MORRIS - Enrollment for the University of Minnesota, Morris reached 1,788 degree seeking students this fall, with an incoming freshman class of 413 students.
The total enrollment, including PSEO students and those taking enrichment classes is 1,896. After a record setting enrollment in 2011-2012, this year's numbers are similar to the 2010 numbers.
"We set an enrollment goal each year and [enrollment] was close to where we'd like to see it," said Bryan Herrmann, UMM Director of Admissions. "We want to grow enrollment each year, but we want it to grow slowly, in increments."
Applications for next fall semester have already been coming through the admissions office.
"It is still early in the admission process," said Herrmann. "UMM cannot begin to admit students until after Sept. 15."
Herrmann encourages potential students to apply by Dec. 15.
"If you're a student, that is the date you want to apply by. Then you are eligible for competitive scholarships. After that date, the potential students are no longer able to compete for the scholarships, but can still apply."
