UPDATE: Highway 55 near Lowry closed for up to two days

DETROIT LAKES, Minn.--(3 p.m.) The Minnesota Department of Transportation and the Minnesota State Patrol closed Highway 55 east of Lowry earlier today due to downed power lines caused by severe weather.

Traffic is detoured using Highway 29 and Pope County Road 28.

Highway 55 will remain closed for up to two days to allow crews to restore the damaged power lines.

Highway 29 north of Glenwood has been cleared of debris. However, motorists should still watch for debris along the sides of the roadway.

Flooding continues to affect Highway 28 in Glenwood near the Pope County Fairgrounds. The road is open to traffic and the area is signed.
