Update: Morris man charged with drug possession (Nov. 2011)
MORRIS - A 28-year-old man has been arrested and charged with possession of controlled substances after officers executing a search warrant discovered felony quantities of marijuana, methamphetamine, black tar heroin, numerous prescription medications and drug paraphernalia in his bedroom, the Morris Police Department reports.
According to police reports, Brock M. Proudfoot has been charged with second degree possession of heroin, fifth degree possession of methamphetamine, and fifth degree possession of marijuana. He appeared in court on Monday and is being held on $50,000 unconditional bail and $20,000 conditional bail.
Officers with the Morris Police Department, Stevens County Sheriff's Department and Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension executed a search warrant on the 400 block of East 7th Street after receiving a tip that a witness had observed Proudfoot ingesting black tar heroin and breaking off chunks of heroin to sell in $50 and $100 increments, the report states.
When officers arrived at the home, around 3 a.m. on Oct. 28, 2011, they found Proudfoot in his bedroom. While executing the search, officers discovered a one-gallon Ziploc bag filled with marijuana, black tar heroin, a container with a small amount of methamphetamine, a marijuana pipe, a grinder, a digital scale, a wallet containing $240 and a deposit slip with $1,000 attached, the complaint states.
Proudfoot was transported to the Stevens County Law Enforcement Center where he declined to provide a statement to police before being transported to the Traverse County Jail.
