In May, Glasrud was appointed to fill the 8th Judicial District vacancy left when Peter A. Hoff retired in January. Glasrud begins his new job in July.

The county board will interview the candidates on Monday, June 27, beginning at 8:30 a.m.

In addition to his legislative position, Westrom, of Elbow Lake, owns and operates Westrom Law Office, PLLC and TSI Real Estate, LLC in Elbow Lake.

The list of finalists, released Tuesday, includes:

•Jeanine R. Brand, of Bagley, who is currently serving as Assistant Clay County Attorney and previously served as Clearwater County Attorney.

•Aaron K. Jordan, of Pequot Lakes, who is currently the Assistant County Attorney in Cass County.

•Lars B. Markeson, of Alexandria, who is currently the Judicial Law Clerk for Judge Jon Stafsholt in the Eight Judicial District.

The interview schedule is:

•8:30 a.m. -- Markeson.

•10 a.m. -- Jordan.

•1 p.m. -- Brand.

•2:30 p.m. -- Westrom.

Glasrud also serves as City Attorney for Morris and other nearby cities, and has a private practice, Glasrud & Economou, P.A.

Glasrud earned his B.A. from Kenyon College in 1977 and his J.D. from Cleveland State University, Cleveland-Marshall College of Law in 1981. Glasrud came to Stevens County as Assistant County Attorney in 1984 and is in his 21st year as the elected County Attorney.

Glasrud will serve the district with judges Gerald Seibel, who is chambered in Morris, and Stafsholt, who is chambered in Glenwood.

Glasrud's wife and law partner, Deb Economou, is the assistant county and city attorney and will continue her work until a replacement is appointed.
