USPS changes collection times for local mail
Morris Minnesota 607 Pacific Avenue 56267

MORRIS, Minn. -- Beginning Monday, letters and packages sent through the U.S. Postal Service will be arriving in Morris later and leaving the local post office earlier as USPS continues to consolidate operations.

Changes in mail drop off and collection times will affect all customers in ZIP code areas that start with 562, 563 and 564, said Pete Nowacki, a spokesman for the U.S. Postal Service.

The last mail collection of the day at the Morris Post Office will be 2:15 p.m. If customers want to letter postmarked that day, it needs to arrive before that time, Nowacki said. Window hours at the post office will remain the same.

The collection time is changing because mail from the 562 ZIP codes will now be processed in Minneapolis rather than St. Cloud. Mail needs to leave Morris earlier to keep up with USPS' service schedule, Nowacki explained.

The new schedule will also have mail arriving in Morris about an hour later each morning, meaning local carriers will begin their routes about 45 to 60 minutes later, said Nowacki.

Customers should also check the pick up times on the USPS mailboxes throughout the community, which will also have earlier collection times.
