VFW wins 1st round

Morris Post #5039 pounded out 25 hits to cruise to a 31-0 victory over Dawson Tuesday at Chizek Field in the first round of the District 5 Tournament.

Chandler Erickson pitched five solid innings giving up only one hit while gaining the win.

Mac Beyer and Tanner Picht sparked the offense each hitting a homerun, with Picht's being a grand slam.

Morris now plays Benson Friday night in Montevideo.

Morris is the No. 1 seed in the tournament with a season record of 14 wins and just two losses.
