Volunteers needed for surplus food distributions in Morris
MORRIS -- The Morris Area Schools are working with West Central Minnesota Communities Action Agency to offer surplus food distributions in Morris on three dates over the summer.
Surplus foods will be distributed on June 18, July 16 and Aug. 20 at Morris Area High School from 5:30 p.m. until the food is gone.
The qualification for the program is simple – if you eat, you are eligible.
In order for the food distribution to be successful, community volunteers are needed to help unload trucks, setting items up, distributing the food to those who come and cleanup. To volunteer, please contact Peg Rinkenberger at 320-287-1697, Jason Rinkenberger at 320-287-0226 or the West Central Minnesota Community Action Agency at 1-800-192-4805.
Monetary donations are also welcome and can be made out to WCMCA Morris Food Distribution. Donations can be dropped off at the Bremer Bank in Morris. You can also give online at GiveMN.org, search for WCMCA.
The surplus food distribution is sponsored by West Central Minnesota Communities Action Agency, the Stevens County Food Shelf, Bremer Bank, the North Country Food Bank Dean Monson Trucking, Stevens Community Medical Center and the Morris Area Schools.
This program is funded in part by the United States Department of Agriculture.
